can rest assured that there’s no busy traffic. We just ask that all dogs are six months old and house-trained.”

Lucky guests can opt for a full cooked breakfast, with haggis and black pudding, or a lighter salmon option, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options available daily. Oats are pre-soaked in apple juice overnight for healthier alternatives or if you want to indulge, try the dry-cured bacon or local Cumberland sausages.

Located at the northern side of Derwentwater and surrounded by panoramic views of valleys like Borrowdale, Newlands, Coledale and Buttermere, with Coledale Horseshoe fells a popular climbing spot and Skiddaw Mountain.

“Visitors can walk up into England’s only Mountain Forest: Whinlatter, from our back garden which encompasses bike trails and stunning hikes, winding though stunning leafy forests, past trickling streams and mountains vistas. The lake district prides itself on inclusivity too with lots of accessible routes for wheelchairs and pushchairs and a comprehensive tramper hire (mobility scooters) for many
woodland trails.

But the Lake District is not just about hiking. There are many fabulous places to visit such as John Rushkin’s Brantwood, Lowther Castle’s roses, Muncaster Castle’s falconry display, Wordsworth House and Dove Cottage, and of course the delightful Hill Top for Beatrix Potter.”
