In this issue of Community Update, we are showcasing BUSFEST 2024 with our Commitment to Excellence Award.
The VW Transporter is the best-selling van in history, with millions of models sold across the world every year. From 1950- 1967, the first VW Transporter (T1) was rolled out and affectionately known as the ‘Bulli.’ The unique air-cooled engine, spilt screen windscreen still holds a special place in the hearts of my VW enthusiasts today. The Transporter is now in its sixth generation, with the 6.1 panel van attracting a whole new legion of fans.
Busfest has always been championing the Volkswagen Transporter for decades and this year is looking to be the biggest yet as the festival celebrates its 30th anniversary. Busfest 2024 (originally called Vanfest) will be at The Three Counties Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire from the 6th- 8th September.
The event is the world’s largest VW Busfestival in the world, uniting Volkswagen Transporter van owners and enthusiasts from all over the UK and further afield.
Billed as a family-friendly event, Busfest is a delightful, eclectic mix of all things-Volkswagen from vehicle displays, off-roading course, the Show & Shine competition, kids’ daytime crafts and entertainment, extensive trade village and top-tapping, arm-waving evening entertainment across five stages.
This year Busfest festival-goers can visit the all-new Great Malvern Artisan Farmer’s Market for delicious, locally sourced products. The market sells everything from assortments of fine cheeses, smoked meat, homemade cakes to crafted beers and gin.
The weekend camping tickets are priced at only £60 per person plus £30 for each 7m x 7m camping plot. Day tickets are £25 for Saturday 7th September, including evening entertainment until midnight and £20 for Sunday 8th September for the day only as there is no evening entertainment booked.
Busfest prides itself on inclusivity, where everyone is welcome. Whilst many regular ticket-holders are self-confessed VW veterans, some are new to the scene and others just like the festival atmosphere.
The group of Busfest volunteers work hard to make each festival one to remember and with this year’s 30th anniversary celebrations, it is guaranteed to be extra special.
