New ‘Walk with Dinosaurs’ Devon exhibition

We’re excited to introduce Jurassic Discovery as the recipient of our Commitment to Excellence Award in Great Days Out.

Jurassic Discovery is an exclusive new Devon attraction open to visitors of all ages and includes a state of the art ‘walk with the dinosaurs.’ The dinosaur-themed adventure was opened in July by guests of honour including Professor Paul Barrett from London’s Natural History Musem. The attraction is located in Seaton, East Devon and offers dinosaur fans an exciting glimpse into the Cretaceous Period, the last days of the dinosaurs.

The immersive, experiential experience includes realistic animatronic dinosaurs, as visitors walk through an unforgettable world with dinosaurs over 66 million years ago. The attraction has already proved to be a hit with local families and tourists, with multiple daily entry sessions to allow everyone the opportunity to explore this DINO-sensation. From Triceratops, Velociraptors to T-Rex, budding palaeontologists will love this foray into dinosaur land, learning about different species, habitats, and behaviour. The exhibition lasts approximately 60 minutes, depending on pace, with no limit on how long you spend at the exhibition.

Jurassic Discovery is adjacent to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site: a spectacular 95-mile coastline, known for its rocks, fossils and landforms. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is a geological wonder and is the only place on the planet where rocks from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods can still be seen.

Perfect for a family-day out, the attraction also has a soft play centre and cafe, to relax in after a long day dinosaur spotting with the free Jurassic Trail Activity Booklet.

Jurassic Discovery is owned by the award-winning electric Seaton Tramway: an established 3-mile tramway operating between Seaton, Colyford and Colyton, offering panoramic views of the Axe Valley.

Seaton Tramway has been a beloved part of East Devon since it start

ed operating in Seaton 1970. Seaton Tramway continues to preserve the rich history of the tram system while offering modern experiences for its visitors. In 2022, Seaton Tramway opened two new stops.
