Opportunity for Farmers: Earn Extra Income with Minimal Effort

Spare farmland sought for secure dog fields

Katie Ranger, founder of the innovative start-up Rangers Run, is seeking to partner with British farmers who have unused land and are open to a low-maintenance, high-reward diversification opportunity—especially relevant in light of upcoming changes to inheritance tax legislation.

With more farmers exploring ways to make the most of underutilised land and buildings, converting a redundant field into a secure dog walking area offers a smart, low-input solution that generates consistent income while supporting the local community.

Katie handles everything—from installing fencing, securing planning permission and insurance, to maintaining the site by mowing, emptying bins, and checking in weekly. The only requirement from the landowner is a simple lease of the land—no day-to-day involvement needed.

The fields are booked online by local dog owners, walkers, or trainers who want safe, enclosed spaces for off-lead exercise. Bookings are available in 25- or 55-minute time slots, with a limit of 3–4 dogs at a time (depending on the field’s size), ensuring quiet, stress-free access for pets and their owners.

Katie was inspired to create Rangers Run after struggling to find secure, well-maintained outdoor spaces to train her rescue dog. Recognising a growing demand for quality, private dog fields, she’s now turning that gap into a sustainable opportunity for both dog owners and landowners alike.

If you have 2–5 acres of land to rent for secure dog fields, please contact Katie directly.
