In this issue of Community Update we would like to award Easynets a Commitment to Excellence Award.
The Brits have always had a keen love affair with their gardens and with an estimated 27 million gardeners spending upwards of four billion pounds annually the gardening industry is booming. During the COVID – 19 lockdown many new gardeners discovered the joys of planting flowers and plants to ease social isolation. Keith Morgan is the owner of Easynets and has always been a keen gardener himself. He worked as a chemical industry manager for 21 years but wanted to do something differently capitalising on his love of gardening.
“In 2010 I got the idea of designing gardening netting and cages. I was frustrated by the substandard products on the market. I spent two years researching and by trial and error came up with the goods. In 2012 I bit the bullet and started my own family business alongside my grandsons with a reputable manufacturer in China using high-quality polyethylene netting.”
The first few years were difficult but Keith persevered by attending numerous gardening trade shows. He loved meeting members of the public and gradually by word of mouth his reputation grew.
“It was a slow burner but gardeners started to take notice. I can sometimes receive four phone calls in one day asking about garden pests and preventative netting and am always happy to give my advice. Gardeners, whether veterans or beginners, are always appreciative of advice.”
From a slow, steady start the company are now enjoying phenomenal sales. Last year alone four thousand cages were ordered off Amazon and with 335 items in stock the team are able to dispatch your items within 24 hours. There are 5,000 positive Ebay reviews and the website comments show an outpouring of love for Easynets.
The whole product range includes garden canes, cloches, fleeces, insect netting, pea and bean frames, replacement poly tunnel covers, weed suppressant mats and vegetable cages. If you need your garden or pond protecting from wildlife, pests or weeds there is a suitable netting product available. Easynets use only the finest materials.
“We use quality rot-proof AA grade fibre rods and our polyethylene nets have the same durability as sea fishing trawling nets. Our products are easy to assembly and go the distance.”
Keith isn’t resting on his laurels though and is busy designing a new cage prototype for a farming company that ingeniously uses insects to break down farming waste.
