Ask any holiday maker if they enjoy booking a holiday and 90% of the time the answer back would be no; this is where Travelynn comes in. Lynda Duncan became an Independent Travel Agent during Covid-19. With years of experience booking and planning holidays and trips for herself, friends and family, Lynn decided to take the next step and turn her unique talent into a career. Fast forward two- and a-bit years, Travelynn is growing fast and has also recently received The Wedding Planner Awards 2023 where she helped several people book their dream Honeymoons.
So how does it work?
We asked Lynda to explain further,
“Although I am an Independent Travel Agent, I am an affiliate of the Consortium that I work under their ABTA & ATOL numbers, therefore giving my clients financial security when they book with me. My specialities are travel in the USA & Cruising; however, destinations I have covered recently that are very popular include Maldives, Canada, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal and multigeneration Cruises. I will cover any aspect of travel and ensure they get what they’re looking for.
Most people would naturally turn to a mainstream agent such as Thomas Cook etc, but when clients book with me, they have my services from the initial booking, right through to their return and can access me 24/7. I get to know my clients and their personal requirements, therefore, I thoroughly research everything to find the best offer for them. My role doesn’t end with the sale, I am always available to ensure that they have the correct documentation, help make reservations, book excursions and other plans.”
Of course, with the recent cost of living crisis and Covid-19 we asked Lynda how she has adapted her services to cater to these industry changes,
“Funnily enough, recent surveys state that people are still willing to spend money on an unforgettable Holiday. As we began to recover from Covid-19 the majority of people wanted to stay in the UK but now there is a mixture of both. Clients also have the option to book larger value holidays a couple of years in advance, pay their deposit and make monthly payments towards the holiday.
I am a small business owner who will go out of her way to help you plan and have the most wonderful holiday, oh and by the way my services are free!”
