In this issue of Community Update, we are delighted to award Touch Tuina Medical Therapy with our Commitment to Excellence Award.
For over 2,000 years, ancient Chinese Tuina massage has been used to treat injuries, digestive complaints through to reproductive conditions, utilising the meridians in the body and helping patients achieve more balanced Qi energy.
Touch Tuina Medical Therapy are UK practitioner-led treatment centres: two in London and two in York, offering patients unique access to this highly effective massage technique, alongside other popular treatments such as: complementary reflexology, kinesiology, cupping, Chinese herbal treatments and acupuncture.
The centres were founded by celebrated senior Tuina practitioners: Errol Lynch and Mariana Arando, bringing a wealth of dedicated experience and training. The team has extended to 16 practitioners, across the four centres. We caught up with founder Errol Lynch to find out more,
“Tuina therapeutic massage is our most popular treatment, as it is the most appropriate response to the majority of ailments from patients. It is often used in combination with cupping, reflexology and herbal products, although they are also booked as standalone treatments along with acupuncture.
Our second clinic in London has only recently opened and we are hoping to expand our premises in York, at some future point.
We are really proud of our diverse range of practitioners. In York, these include Maria: a senior practitioner from Spain, to Anne-Marie who has gone through our training programme and is now fully qualified, having previously worked as a skilled joiner.
Dexter is a practitioner who is also a qualified personal trainer and combines his knowledge of exercise to aid patients’ recovery to maintain their peak physical health.”
All of the Touch Tuina clinics offer reduced rates for patients on benefits or low income, providing a fully-exclusive service to many marginalised members of the local communities. The therapies are exceptionally effective: giving many patients a new lease of life, increased energy levels and increased levels of wellbeing.

Everyone at all the clinics works incredibly hard to ensure the optimum health and recovery of all our patients. It is our primary focus at all times. Many practitioners go ‘above and beyond’ for clients, often extending the hour’s appointment time and sometimes doing home visits for clients who are unable to attend the clinic. It is wonderful to have our work ‘recognised’ with such an award.”
