In this issue of Community Update, we are proud to announce Wedding Belles of Pyle with our Commitment to Excellence Award.
Spring and Summer have long been considered the seasons of love: beautiful tulip, rose and freesia flower bouquets, complimenting outdoor wedding ceremonies but with the main focus on the all-important wedding dress.
The Wedding Belles bridal boutique is in the village of Pyle, Bridgend South Wales and stocks over 600 beautiful, elegant wedding dresses for brides-to-be. The wedding shop idea came about when Ellen Baker was dress shopping for her daughter Lorraine’s wedding in 1994.
The popular wedding shop sells a full range of wedding dresses: elegant, vintage, t-length dresses, fit and flare, through to princess ballgowns, with styles and budgets for every beautiful bride.
One of the most popular wedding dress ranges is Ronald Joyce from London fashion designers Ronald & Joyce Phillips. The exclusive designers have won numerous coveted awards including: 2019 finalist Best British Bridal Designer at the British Wedding Awards.
The latest design is the Greta wedding dress: designed in stunning lace and chiffon, with a glamourous A-line silhouette and high neckline. The embellished beading and appliques and long, cape sleeves, add to this daring yet romantic bridal look.
We caught up with Ellen’s daughter, Lorraine Aston, now Manageress to find out more about this beautiful wedding shop,
“There are a few 2023 Bridal trends: colours are very in- soft blush, red and black currently being very popular. Some brides love the sheer look bodice with the low plunge neckline.
Across our huge wedding dress range, we have something for everyone and all the perfect accessories: matching veils, tiaras, jewellery, bags and bridal shoes to compliment every dress.
We also sell bridesmaid, flower-girl, mother of the bride/groom, prom/evening dresses and fascinators.
We hire our men’s suits from the Cameron Ross collection. We have an offer of ‘five for the price of four’ on at the moment, perfect for a groom, his best man, father, father-of-the bride and other male relatives and friends.”
The Wedding Belles of Pyle’s Facebook page has some lovely, happy photos of brides-to-be customers holding ‘I said Yes at Wedding Belles’ signs, all delighted with their wedding dress choices.
This family-run business has seen whole bridal and groom family generations come through the shop, and as Lorraine admits she has the perfect job,
“It’s a very rewarding business to be in, especially when you see how beautiful our brides look when they find their dream dress: it’s priceless! “
