Stunning, secluded, elegant al fresco wedding venues

In this issue of Community Update, we are delighted to announce Teasses Estate with our Commitment to Excellence Award.

Imagine saying ‘I do,’ in a stunning 19th century walled garden, surrounded by coral peonies, secluded nuptials with views of the Teasses fresh-water Loch or an unforgettable ceremony on the ruins of a mediaeval castle.

The Teasses Estate in Ceres, Fife offers couples the perfect, idyllic venue for a DIY wedding or more catered package of your dreams.

There are two stunning options for wedding couples: the walled garden or the courtyard at Hall Teasses.

Firstly, the walled garden has been given partner status by the Royal Horticultural Society: a stunning two-acre garden, with lovingly restored Victorian greenhouse. The green-fingered gardening team can even plant flower varieties of your choice, ready for the big day.

As the cost-of-living crisis continues to soar, couples are opting for venue-only options to save costs. The Victorian greenhouse seats up to 60 guests for inside, intimate dining, whereas the permanent 9x 15 metre marquee welcomes up to 120 guests, with the hard floors perfect for ceilidh dancing!

The wedding couple have full, exclusive use of the Victorian greenhouse, and walled garden. There is a stunning, private lodge nearby: Teasses Hall with preferential booking for the lucky couple, complete with secluded location for a romantic wedding night.

Secondly, couples can hire the courtyard at Hall Teasses, with the stunning 13th castle ruins and lawn views of Loch Teasses. The woodland area surrounding the Loch won the prestigious Purdey Award for conservation work, painstakingly carried out over several years. The wedding couple have full, exclusive use of the Hall Teasses courtyard, which sleeps eight people for two nights, luxury marquee for reception, traditional Scottish piper and catering package at Bothy (Hall Teasses.)

Both wedding locations include additional options such as: clay pigeon shooting, fishing and fire pit.

We had a lovely chat with Craig Cameron, Estate Factor to find out more,

“The estate is in the east of Fife: south of Cupar between Ceres and Largo. The estate underwent extensive renovation from 1996 and we had our first wedding in the garden in May 2022. Our diary has filled up for 2023, it’s really taking off. The estate has been here since early 1200, so over 800 years of heritage.”

These charming, al fresco wedding venues offer a touch of panache to your Scottish wedding day, surrounded by a beautifully restored conservation area.

There is a Wedding Fair on the 13th May, for prospective couples to view the venue and meet trusted, local suppliers.
