Since COVID-19, the return of the staycation has well and truly embedded itself back into the Great British culture. No more are people interested in those long-haul flights that you leave fighting through airport queues, but instead, the campervan life has attracted thousands of people from every walk of life to a new way of holidaying.
CXR Conversions is a family-run business based near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire with a passion for all things campervan conversions. Boasting a collective 75 years plus of automotive and carpentry experience and expertise, CXR Conversions offer an unrivalled service when it comes to customer experience and satisfaction.
“We specialise in discussing with the customer exactly what it is they need and then building the customised campervan to their exact requirements. We serve a vast range of customers from younger individuals to retired couples and large families, and can cater to any budget. Our services are very bespoke. We have designed a part of the van for a motorcyclist’s motorbike to be attached onto the back of, and also worked on a project for a competitive surfer who wanted to be able to store his surf board inside the van but not within the living space so we created a false roof section for the surfboard to be stored in. We have also worked on projects for those that have disability or accessibility needs too,” said Harry Carter, Company Founder.
A key asset to the company’s offering is their flexibility and design skills that give customers large colour and edge banding options. Every conversion is completed by the CXR team by hand, and another of their specialities is that they install diesel cookers as opposed to gas cookers for a more efficient cooking solution.
“We can build what others can’t. Alongside this, we also offer servicing and maintenance of the leisure side of the vehicle, and if the customer isn’t after a complete conversion, we can also fit Pop Top Roofs, Upholstery, and Custom Cut Furniture,” added Harry.
CXR is soon to launch a new service where customers will be able to rent vehicles that have already been custom fitted and are ready to go. For £90 a night, you will simply be able to pick up the vehicle and explore the roads for a great experience.
