In this issue of Community Update we are recognising LighterLife with our Commitment to Excellence award.
Over the years there has been a wide range of weight-loss programmes from Atkin’s to Zone diets often endorsed by celebrities. Sometimes it’s hard to separate fad from fact so it’s no wonder that potential customers are left dazed and confused.
LighterLife leaves no room for confusion with over 30 years’ experience running science-led weight-loss programmes. Headed by nutritional expert Dr Kelly Johnston the formula-based VLCD’s are both healthy and delicious. Chloe Lansdale is the LighterLife Mentor for the Darlington area.

Customers can choose from two subscriptions, TotalFast for those wanting to lose three stone or more or the FlexiFast for those with less weight to lose. There is a delicious range of VLCD and TDR products from noodle pots, shakes, porridge, and sweeter options such as sticky toffee pudding and pancakes. The products equate to 800kcal as part of a fully-controlled dietary replacement plan.
LighterLife differs from weight-loss plans on the market by providing Cognitive Behavioural Thinking (CBT) meetings focussed on psychological aspects. Many dieters struggle with ruminating thoughts around secret, comfort eating or snacking linked to stress or boredom. The programme will discuss all these hot topics to help customers understand the link between inner thoughts, intentions and food habits.
The third aspect of the plan is the LighterLife mentor who you will meet via Zoom, face-to-face or WhatsApp to support weight-loss journeys. Chloe tells us more
“My role is to support my clients throughout their weight loss journey and beyond. I offer weekly online meetings with all of my clients in which I discuss a topic related to weight loss. I also offer one-to-one sessions if needed so you’ll never feel alone! The CBT based work allows you to identify food triggers for overeating. I continue supporting clients even after they have reached their target weight with reintroducing conventional foods through our Management programme.
