Colleen Davidson Artistry is a multi-award-winning makeup and stylist and has been featured in The Herald, The Glasgow Times and Your Scottish Wedding Magazine.
The successful freelance hair and makeup stylist was selected as Bridal Hair Stylist of the Year in the Scottish Prestige Awards in Lanarkshire for 2023/2024, winner of ‘Freelance Makeup Specialist of the Year 2023’ in the Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards, alongside many other accolades and awards.
Based just outside Glasgow, Colleen is happy to travel across Scotland, and indeed nationwide, for bespoke wedding hair and beauty services.
We grabbed a cuppa and asked Colleen more about her unique approach,
“I am a freelance makeup artist and hair stylist, providing packages for either/both services for brides and their bridal parties on their wedding day. I also provide lash, brow and facial treatments, so I can be on hand to provide the perfect bridal prep in the lead up to the big day!
My aim is to provide my clients with a first-class makeup experience. Beauty is about being comfortable in your own skin – for such a special occasion, brides want to feel like the best version of themselves.
From natural looks, soft glam, to full glam, I will work with them to create a look that reflects their personal style and enhances their natural beauty.
The part I love most about my job is building connections. From the first enquiry email, right through to the arrival of the professional photos and beyond, I make getting to know my client a priority. Being asked to be involved in any wedding day is such an honour, and I take it very seriously, by being so up-close and personal with a client, I try to ensure they feel comfortable and able to be open around me. I love building that relationship, and even better when I get updates from them about their honeymoon, starting a family, and later passing my details on to friend and family.
Looking ahead to 2024, glowy but natural face makeup will continue to be a big trend in 2024, with that gorgeous, healthy glow enhancing natural features. Monochromatic looks look set to be a big trend too, inspired by the ‘Latte makeup’ and ‘strawberry girl’ trends of this year.
Natural classic hairstyles with curls will always be a favourite for brides, with accessories trending. Hairstyles that accentuate customised earrings or designed to incorporate ribbons and bows are big news.”
