Protecting You and Your Loved Ones

In this issue of Community Update, we are pleased to award Bees & Co for its Commitment to Excellence.

Bees & Co is a partnership built on more than 40 years of experience in financial services. They specialise in Wills, Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney, offering clear, informed guidance rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Where appropriate, they introduce clients to trusted independent financial advisers who they have worked with for many years, ensuring they receive the right support for their wider financial needs.

“Our roots run deep,” says John Bees, Senior Partner. “We previously structured Trusts for the UK clients of several foreign banks and, over 30 years ago, were asked to expand into Will writing and LPAs when those institutions preferred not to refer their clients elsewhere. That trust continues to shape how we work today.

Based in Bredon, Gloucestershire, with a presence in London and Leicestershire, we focus on helping people reduce Inheritance Tax, particularly farmers and business owners, as well as those who need LPAs in place. We offer fixed-price solutions and believe in a personal service, meeting clients in their homes or workplaces rather than operating purely online.

We also provide access to tried-and-tested tax planning through our partners. As members of the Society of Will Writers and fully insured, we are committed to delivering practical, reliable advice. Being recognised is always an honour, and we’re grateful to be considered.”

Because of their strong understanding of financial matters and Inheritance Tax, Bees & Co are able to offer clients a more comprehensive view of their current position and how best to plan for the future. They emphasise the importance of Lasting Powers of Attorney, explaining how they can be used effectively with the right preferences and instructions in place. Bees & Co’s priority is to always find the most suitable solution for each client, and to introduce other trusted professional advisers where necessary. What’s more, their fees are also typically lower than those charged by many high street law firms.

Looking ahead, we asked John what’s new in 2026:

“In 2026, we are seeing continued innovation in how individuals can protect their assets, preserve wealth and legitimately reduce their tax burden. While there is sometimes a perception that tax avoidance is ‘not playing the game’, the reality is that, where solutions are entirely legal and compliant, they form a sensible and accepted part of financial planning. Widely used structures such as ISAs and pensions are clear examples of this principle in practice. Beyond these, there are a range of additional, lawful strategies available that, when applied correctly, can help clients manage their tax exposure effectively while safeguarding their wealth for the future.”
