Stunning wedding images captured by accomplished photographer

In this issue of Community Update, we are awarding Nathan O’Brien Photography with our Commitment to Excellence Award for exemplary, wedding photography.

A good wedding photographer captures all the joy of the special day: an outstanding photographer captures golden wedding jewellery reflecting in the dappled sunlight at a Hindu wedding, a stolen, secret garden kiss between the wedding couple or aunt Mildred’s shock at catching the tossed bouquet.

If you’re looking for outstanding wedding photos, look no further than Nathan O’Brien Photography: accomplished Nottingham based photographer. We talked all things-weddings related with Nathan,

“I’ve had a camera in my hand since I was young so being able to use my skill to create memories for others, really does mean a lot.

I started my business the year before COVID so it took a little while to get going, I’m now on over 20 weddings.

I’ve covered very traditional Catholic weddings, to small weddings in a registry office to a Hindu wedding as well. I love different cultures and how they celebrate love!

The best thing about being a wedding photographer is the raw emotion of the day. Looking through a lens, you’re so immersed in everyone’s emotions, zoomed on faces, catching the laughter, tears, and the fun! All that love and joy: you just can’t beat it.

I’m already taking bookings for 2024 so I can see myself getting a lot busier soon too!”

Nathan has a variety of packages to suit all budgets, from covering just the ceremony to the whole day, including all the reception shenanigans! For all wedding packages, the couple are given a beautiful portfolio of colour and black and white images, showcasing everything from beautiful Tudor-styled ceremony rooms to intricately patterned henna wedding hands.

Although based in the East Midlands, Nathan is more than happy to travel the country, as he loves visiting new locations. One of the most popular, local wedding venues is Tutbury Castle in Burton-on-Trent: a beautiful 11th century Royal castle, with sweeping views across the Green Dove valley and the river Dove.

Wedding couples can also hire a videographer to work in tandem with Nathan,

“I work with a couple of videographers to create these packages. It’s great for couples, as they can book both parts at once. One of us arranges the calls, paperwork and questionnaire and the other comes to the meetings and gets all the info they need. It’s simple, book through one of us, pay through one of us, but get both vendors at your wedding! Nice and simple.”
