Yonderton House Farm: Where Scenic Beauty Meets Relaxation

In this issue of Community Update, we are pleased to award Yonderton House for its Commitment to Excellence.

Yonderton House Farm was taken over by Andrew and Andrea Lake in February 2022. Initially the family moved to the area to farm beef and sheep, and as the holiday properties were already on the farm, they have taken what was a fledging business and evolved it even further.

Over the three years they have been running the business, both properties: Yonderton House and McGill Cottage, offer a luxurious rural getaway based on a working farm surrounded by countryside and stunning views, a perfect place to get away with the privacy of your own space.

Nestled along the scenic River Doon in South Ayrshire, Yonderton House Farm is just six miles from Ayr, offering easy access to a wealth of attractions. Explore stunning beaches, historic castles, lush gardens, and grand stately homes, or enjoy outdoor adventures like mountain biking, hiking, and even stargazing after sunset. For a change of scenery, take a ferry to the picturesque islands of Arran and Bute. And if you’re drawn to city life, Glasgow and Edinburgh are both within a two-hour drive.

Yonderton House is the larger of the two properties, and can sleep up to 12 people in six bedrooms. There is also wheelchair access and it is pet friendly.

McGill Cottage is a spacious three-bedroom property that sleeps up to six people. It is pet friendly with an open-plan design and private decking which boasts views off South Ayrshire and the Isle of Arran.

Both holiday lets are perfect for families and friends looking to explore the west of Scotland, or even to act as a great base for a reunion, celebration or family/friend large gathering.

What’s so lovely about Yonderton House Farm is that Andrew and Andrea do their upmost to make the place feel special and welcoming, giving guests an unforgettable experience.

“In the three years we have been here, we have tried to deliver a quality experience to our guests – no matter what the time of year. From providing a 7ft fully decorated Christmas tree, to Easter chocolate goodies and hot cross buns. We have also converted the garage into a games room to accommodate for rainy days (which we do get!). We can also offer the services of a private chef for those very special celebrations,” stated Andrea.
